ICT
Computing at Seal
At Seal Primary Academy, our ICT curriculum develops students’ skills in order to prepare for later life; as it is a central part of their lives both in and out of school. When taught enthusiastically and creatively, it will develop children’s skills and help them keep ahead of the curve in an ever changing technological society. The teaching of ICT provides the skills to succeed in KS3, further education, and finding and maintaining a job in the modern world.
We recognise the importance of nurturing a culture where children take use of their problem solving skills and resilience, to address any issues that may occur. Our intent is to provide creative and inspiring lessons that will display children’s skills, and ensure them to stay safe and access the evolving technologies within their life.
The ICT Curriculum has several aims that are embedded across Key Stage 1 and 2. These include:
-
Developing typing skills
-
Developing coding skills
-
Develop Spreadsheet skills
-
Understanding internet safety
-
Developing transferable skills
